A delegation from Abutia Kpota on Thursday 10th March, 2022 paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive of Ho West, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau.
The delegation led by the Assembly Member for the Kpota Electoral Area, Hon. Issac Glavi included the Chief of Abutia Kpota, the Administrator of Emmanuel Hospital, Ho and the Pastor of the Apostolic Church of Ghana, Abutia Kpota. The purpose of their visit was to discuss health services delivery in the Abutia Kpota community.
Hon. Isaac Glavi informed management of the Assembly about the closure of Gisela Maternity Home, a private owned health facility which serve the Abutia Kpota Community and its environs. He stated that the closure of the facility was necessited by the ill health of the private owner. He again revealed that family members of the Gisela Maternity Home have decided to liase with Emmanuel Hospital, Ho to take over the management of the facility since the closure is affecting the community.
The Administrator of Emmanuel Hospital also acknowledge the takeover of the facility and noted that the Hospital would work beyond the operations of Maternity Home.
Overs Daniel Gillard Kupoalor the Pastor of the Apostolic Church of Ghana, Abutia Kpota, also revealed that as part of their social responsibilities to the community a 100 bed capacity Hospital would be built by the church at Abutia Kpota to provide health services to the community and enclaves. He further indicated that the sod cutting for the commencement of the project will be done soonest.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau was very grateful for the visit and commended the team for the initiatives. He indicated that government cannot do all in the development of the district and therefore assured them of the Assembly’s support of the project.
Present at the Meeting were the District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director, Chief of Abutia Kpota, Assembly Member for Kpota Electoral Area, the Administrator of Emmanuel Hospital, the District Diseases Control Officer, the Administrator of the District Health Directorate and Heads of Department.
